"New Year's Day: Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions... Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual." - Mark Twain-
Who gets to determine when the old ends and the new begins? It's not on the calendar, it's not a birthday, it's not a new year, it's an event --big or small, something that changes us, ideally it gives us hope, a new way of living and looking at the world, letting go of old habits, old memories... What's important is that we never stop believing we can have a new beginning, but it's also important to remember amid all the crap are a few things really worth holding on to...
If you're feeling frightened about what comes next, don't be... Embrace the uncertainty... Allow it to lead you places... Be brave as it challenges you to exercise both your heart and your mind as you create your own path towards happiness, don't waste time with regret... Spin wildly into your next action... Enjoy the present, each moment, as it comes; because you'll never get another one quite like it... And if you should ever look up and find yourself lost, simply take a breath and start over... Retrace your steps and go back to the purest place in your heart... where your hope lives. You'll find your way again...
So, drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past... Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go... Happy New Year, everybody!!!
